Neuropsychological Evaluations
Gain a clear understanding of your child’s cognitive, emotional, and academic needs through our comprehensive evaluations. Our evaluations include neuropsychological, psychological, and educational testing. The objective data gathered from this formal testing provides powerful evidence to identify your child’s strengths and challenges. Testing identifies hidden challenges that may not be readily observable, ensuring your child’s needs are fully identified and addressed for more effective support.
The assessment aims to provide a clear understanding of your child’s profile, offering tailored recommendations for educational, vocational, and intervention planning to support their growth and success. A roadmap is developed to help guide you through the next steps to support your child.

When should parents consider an evaluation for their child or adolescent?
There are many reasons to have a neuropsychological evaluation. An evaluation will identify your child’s strengths and challenges and provide you with an overall picture of how your child thinks and learns. Our evaluations can help address the underlying reason(s) why your child is struggling with any of the following difficulties: tantrums, meltdowns, aggression, school avoidance, problems with peers, anxiety, inflexibility, sadness, self-esteem, attention, language, memory, processing, organization, planning, executive functioning, reading, writing, math.
What do our evalautions assess for?
Our evaluations assess for the following (among others): Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder, Learning Disabilities (Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia), Nonverbal Learning Disability, Anxiety Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Depression, Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder, Bipolar/Mood Disorders, Communication Disorders (Mixed Receptive & Expressive, Language, Pragmatic/Social Communication Language), Concussion, and Twice-Exceptional/Giftedness.
What are the steps of the assessment?
At CCNS, we guide families through a thorough assessment process designed to identify the cognitive and psychological factors impacting on their child's learning and behavior. Our steps include intake, testing, feedback, and report generation, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of each child's unique needs.
- Intake: Family shares essential background information and discusses concerns with the neuropsychologist.
- Testing: Your child meets with the neuropsychologist for a full-day evaluation. This includes a range of standardized assessments to assess cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning.
- Feedback: Family meets with neuropsychologist to review preliminary insights, discuss findings, and recommendations.
- Report: Family receives a detailed evaluation report that includes recommendations and tailored strategies for support.

What happens after?
After the comprehensive assessment process at CCNS, tailored recommendations are provided to support your child's unique needs through a feedback meeting and a written report. These insights pave the way for actionable plans that promote optimal learning and emotional well-being. These customized strategies are formulated to address identified challenges and empower your child in academic and social settings.
CCNS also offers additional ongoing services to support families. These services can include consultation with other providers (e.g., therapist, prescriber, advocate, attorney), attending IEP/504 meetings, classroom and program observations, and ongoing consultation.
